Unlike the present generation, I’ve had the pleasure of living in a joint family where umpteen of Daddy's and Mummy's brothers and sisters and uncles and aunties and nieces and nephews adorned our White House, thus making it as colourful a home as possible. Our White House was built in a quaint little town calledBerhampur. The head of the White House, the titular executive was the President, my daddy. But since we lived in India, in a democracy where the Prime Minister controlled most of the powers, the real executive of our White House was obviously my mummy :-} And even though Daddy was the President of some Family Planning Committee and even though he wrote umpteenbookson the rational method of population control, as a broad minded Indian with rudimental Gandhian principles, where his family was concerned he took awful pride in the creation of his seven wonders- Almas, Naaz, Nafees, Nargis, Faiyaz, Nigar and Nilofer.
